Baking Soda Armstrong: The White Toyota Aristo from Indonesia

When it comes to cars it always hits home when someone gives it their all in a build. Whether they live next door, across the coast, or in this case across the globe in Indonesia, every person that allocates their time in order to put together a show-stopping whip deserves a round of applause. Many of us have been in our garages with busted knuckles and greasy wrenches, but not blowing the doors off of the scene we were attempting to when it came to our vehicles.

Richard may be another story with his Toyota Aristo. As all of you know the Aristo is the JDM version of the Lexus GS300, but with the 2JZ-GTE motor. Richard originally got into cars when he saw his friends’ VIP chassis and had an epiphany: he loved VIP styling. The big body sedans, aggressive offsets, and insane camber hit home for Richard, and that became his personal styling preference when it came to building his cars.

While so many people shoot for obvious highs in builds whether it be go-fast parts or ridiculously rare wheels Randy took an opposite route, deciding that the aero on his Aristo would be the cream of the crop; all custom. Everything from front lip to rear valence was custom molded to match the car’s style, and Richard went to the ends of the Earth to get it right. His car sat on the fenders perfectly thanks to his air ride system and BC Forged HB29 20×9 -11 wheels wrapped in Toyo Proxes that had nice stretch.

In the end it doesn’t matter what part of the world you call home, the only thing that truly comes into play is the owner’s heart, vision, and the hand turning the key in the ignition. Whether you own a Ferrari F430 or a Honda CRV you still own a car that means something to you in some way, shape or form. Richard has an attention to detail that few of us have when it comes to the little things, and that’s what makes his Toyota more special than every other “GS” in the game. I have a feeling that many will try to emulate his style on their cars from here on out, and as they say — “imitation is the highest form of flattery.” We at Canibeat are definitely looking forward to seeing future builds from Randy!
