White Stallion: Mallory VanRiper’s 2000 Nissan Skyline GT-T

As if a Nissan Skyline wasn’t a rare enough site, a woman opening the driver’s side door has got to be about as rare as getting struck by lighting….twice! Hailing from Portland, Oregon, Mallory and her 2000 Nissan Skyline GT-T definitely cause most onlookers to do a double take.

After heavy influence from her husband, Mallory’s introduction to the import scene started off quite humbly as her first car build started with a Honda. As you can see, things ramped up quite drastically to her current project, but not before tinkering with an S14 and later getting bored with it, only to come upon the Skyline; sounds like a perfect upgrade to me, wouldn’t you agree?

Well, not so fast. Mallory’s Skyline didn’t start off as a neck-breaker per say; not in the least actually; the car was adorned with less than satisfactory paint, and to top it all off, the motor didn’t even run! Not long after bringing the car home though, the “fix it” list was created, and getting the car to move under it’s own power was priority number one.

After the motor had been sorted, paint was next on the list. Mallory’s got a track record of owning white cars, yet the Skyline deserved something a little extra. Micro flake was added, and the result is something that must be seen in person. With just the slightest bit of light, the flake really pops and adds quite a bit of depth to the smooth blanket of white laid on top of the car.
Patience, as well as time are two things that every build seems to require, yet most of us are too anxious for. Mallory told us that sourcing quality parts, and then waiting for them. For example, the East Bear kit you see on the car took right around 9 months from order date to delivery; absolutely mind-blowing patience and dedication for a build. Once the kit was acquired, Mallory could finally see the build’s progression. Small items are necessities, yet it’s the big items that really seem to make an owners vision come to life!

Speaking of, Mallory would like to give a shout out to her husband Wryann for his constant support, as well as VIP Performance of Portland, Aluminum Head Rebuilders, and DOC Race.
“Finished” is a word scarcely used, “future” is the one we like to hear, and for Mallory and her Skyline, the future sounds pretty exciting. We’ll spare the details in hopes that you’ll keep tabs on her and the progress she makes on her Skyline! Stay tuned, this may be the first you’ve heard of Mallory, but we can guarantee it won’t be the last!
